This year a total of 132 young professionals and young students have enrolled at SSTH Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality. 83 students started the Hôtelière-Restauratrice/Hôtelier-Restaurateur HF course, 33 students started as Hotel Communication specialists and in September another class with 16 students enrolled at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) will begin their Bachelor studies at the Passug campus.

In order to accommodate all the new students, the school hotel once again invested heavily in accommodation, classrooms and F&B outlets over the summer. The school hotel now has 142 rooms with 180 beds. The house is fully booked. It is planned to further increase the number of students over the next few years to respond to the increasing market demand for qualified hospitality professionals. "We are very proud to be part of the EHL Group, as it enables us to sustainably expand our range of programs and the number of students," says Managing Director, Michael Hartmann.

The strategy of the SSTH provides for a further expansion of the Passugg location. A gradual expansion of the campus with additional buildings was included in the long-term planning. From September 2018, the Bachelor Village will be built on the Passugg campus to host EHL courses. The former school building of the Passugg Primary School, which is located slightly above the SSTH main building, will be completely renovated and directly connected to the main building via a staircase. In addition, design living modules will be erected behind the school building.

The student exchange weeks with Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, which started in spring 2018, were a complete success and will be further expanded so that EHL students can continue to spend a project week in Passugg and experience the hotel industry in Graubünden up close.
